The prequel to We Were Liars dives into an old-money family's summer in the heart of a private island of the coast of Massachusetts. Young teens with a lot of freedom and power in their hands are up for anything-- especially if it has a consequence. Lockhart exposes the secrets of what money can cover up, and the lies that consumes families.

Lockhart builds a beautiful story of teens and good ole-summer "fun." This book is a solid 9/10. I recommend to read this book before We Were Liars, even though it isn't necessary. It will help you understand more though!
