Lale, a Slovakian Jew, is set to tattoo the new prisoners of Auschwitz. In 1942, he falls in love with a girl who he tattoos, Gita. Gita and Lale are determined to be together no matter the consequence of their love,

As a huge fan of Holocaust novels, this one is hard to beat. Their beautiful love story left me in tears. A solid 10/10, and a wonderful read about true love.
